The SKF Glide Kit replaces the original seals and piston rings in the air-side cartridge of the WP48 AER fork. This fork features numerous seals that seal all moving parts, thereby contributing to the coefficient of friction and the so-called stick-slip force. The seals are also subjected to high pressure, which increases friction significantly. As a result, the WP48 AER fork has a significantly higher stick-slip force than conventional forks.
The SKF conversion kit significantly reduces this stick-slip force, minimizes the so-called „stick-slip“ effect, and also improves sealing and reliability. Response is improved, and minor bumps are better absorbed.
